About the Program
The Parkinson's Disease Research, Education, and Clinical Center (PADRECC) is a VA Center of Excellence, serving as a nationwide referral center providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art clnical and surgical care for Veterans afflected with Parkinson's disease and related movement disorders.
PADRECC San Francisco's research includes investigation of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and pharmacologic therapies, studies of the motor and non-motor symptoms, as well as biomarkers of Parkinson's disease and its etiology, pathogenesis, and progression. Our education programs include movement disorrders fellowships, stereotactic and functional neurosurgery fellowships, and clinical exercises for medical students and residents (including neurology, geriatrics, nursing, and pharmacy).
