San Francisco VA Health Care System
About the Hoptel
The San Francisco VA Medical Center provides overnight, shared lodging accommodations to eligible Veterans receiving health care services. Arrangements must be made in advance by the referring clinic and confirmed by the Veteran prior to arrival. To receive Hoptel lodging, a Veteran must be required to travel 75 or more miles from their home to the VA health care facility.
At the time of lodging, the Veteran must be clinically stable and capable of self-care. VA does not provide nursing or other medical care for temporary lodging beds.
Minor children may not be accommodated in temporary lodging facilities on VA grounds.

Please make alternative lodging arrangements if you are on the Hoptel waiting list. Hoptel has limited capacity during our current construction (at the moment only Bldg. 9 and 22 is open), and we encourage all potential lodgers to confirm their lodging status prior to arrival.
