Visitor Information
ATM
There is an ATM machine located at the Medical Center in Building 200 Main Lobby across from the Information Desk. The ATM machine belongs to the Patelco Credit Union*. ATM fees may apply.
Canteen (Cafeteria)
The Canteen is located in Building 7 on the ground floor. They are open Monday-Friday from 6:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. A Starbucks Coffee Shop is located near the Food Court and is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Vending machines are located on the ground floor of Building 203 (near entrance) and are available 24 hours a day.
Chapel
A nondenominational chapel is located on the first floor of Building 7. Protestant Worship Services and Catholic Mass are held on a regular basis. Please contact Chaplain Service (415) 221-4810 ext. 3689 for additional information or to speak with one of our chaplains.
Lodging
San Francisco VAMC Hoptel
The Hoptel provides overnight, shared lodging accommodations to eligible Veterans traveling from a distance greater than 50 miles.

Police
San Francisco VAMC has a Police Service. VA Police are Federal Officers empowered with authority pursuant to 38 USC 902.
Our officers provide 24-hour patrols and officer reaction to criminal activity on all VA controlled property, to include National Cemetaries. For general police assistance, please call (415) 750-2003. In case of an emergency while on facility grounds, call (415) 750-2222. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and government/personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
Because the VA Medical Center is federal property, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs (to include "medical marijuana") are prohibited.

Retail Store
We offer a full-service retail store with such products as electronics, cosmetics, toiletries, and clothing. Items may be purchased tax-free. Visa and MasterCard are accepted. The retail store is open to patients, staff, and caregivers, and is located on the ground floor of Building 7. It does not sell newspapers but stands are located in front of the entrance to Building 7.

Shuttle Service
The San Francisco VA Medical Center has a shuttle bus that provides service in-between its VA Clinics and the Medical Center. In addition, shuttle service is also provided by the DAV Transportation Network. For more information go here.
