Healthy EatingAll organization events are encouraged to promote the principles and concepts of wellness with fresh, wholesome foods, moderate in fat and sodium, high in nutrients and fiber, with an emphasis on a plant-based diet.
To help promote healthy eating, our Medical Center hosts a weekly Farmers Market on campus every Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., offering local organic vegetables, fruit, nuts, plants, and more!
MOVE! is a national weight management program designed by the VA National Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (NCP) to help Veterans lose weight, keep it off and improve their health. Learn more. The SFVAMC also offers the MOVE! Strength and Wellness program, which includes in-class and in-gym physical fitness activity, nutritional information, and behavioral health coaching.
