About the Program
The Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) Service Line at the San Francisco VA Medical Center offers a variety of outstanding clinical services for eligible older or functionally dependent Veterans as well as training for learners in a variety of fields. The GEC and the Division of Geriatrics at the University of California San Francisco make groundbreaking contributions to patient care, education, and research in geriatrics and gerontology.
Our dedicated team includes geriatricians and internal medicine and family medicine physicians, geriatric clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, certified nursing assistants, geriatric pharmacists, dentists, physical and occupational rehabilitation therapists, recreational therapists, social workers, geropsychologists, geropsychiatrists, dietitians, and chaplains.
